Encubator 6th Coffee Chat - Render to Caesar

Encubator Entrepreneur Community Network held its 6th coffee tax on Sat 9th December 2017. The event was jointly organised by Encubator, Graduate Christian Fellowship and FGB's Trailblazers.

Mr Poon Yew Hoe, the managing partner of Crowe Horwath spoke to a group of 30 on "Rendering to Caesar". He recounted the time when he first got involved in tax more than 30 years ago. His initial work involved getting into the nuts and bolts of tax consulting which eventually led to him running the practice and putting in place systems and procedures to run the tax consultancy practice and on staff recruiting, training, development and retention.

He starts each day with prayer for God's wisdom to win favor with God and men. That faith allows him to trust everything to God even as he prospers in his endeavors.

As responsible citizens, it is our duty to pay our share of tax. An attempts to evade tax will bring about severe consequences such as penalties and which could cause a cash crunch for the company. The key is for each transaction and arrangement to have commercial reality and substance.

He also took the audience through the major tax changes in the 2018 Budget

the 2018 budget.
